Hi! I’m Stefan, 39 years old, from Germany, right next to the Dutch border.
My Hardstyle journey began in 2003, when I got my hands on my first Technoboy mix CDs. The sound instantly got me hooked. In 2005, shortly after turning 18, I attended my very first Hardstyle event: Q-Base. From that moment on, Hardstyle became more than just music. It became a way of life.
Since then, I’ve visited more than 400 parties and events, collected countless flyers, posters, CDs and other memorabilia, and witnessed the evolution of Hardstyle over more than two decades. I’ve seen trends come and go, new sounds emerge, legends rise, and the scene grow into what it is today.
In 2022, I started sharing some of my old Hardstyle flyers on Instagram. What began as a small idea quickly grew into something much bigger. The response was incredible, and History of Hardstyle became more than just a couple of social media channels. It turned into a place where the past can be rediscovered, memories can be shared, and the history of our scene can live on.
That’s what this project is all about: reliving all the iconic moments that shaped Hardstyle. From legendary events and unforgettable artists to classic tracks, old flyers and the stories behind them, this is a tribute to the music and the people who made it what it is today.
